POLITICAL BACKING: Britain calls for Government support in bidding for events

Last Wednesday the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) held a reception at Westminster both to lobby MPs about the contribution meetings and events make to the UK economy, and to celebrate its own tenth birthday. But the function coincided with the announcement of the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review cuts, with VisitBritain losing a third of its income over four years. Robert Coren reports.
